Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Reconciliation
Confession / ReconciliationFirst Confession and First Holy Communion
Sacraments are a beginning! We prepare young Catholics for these transforming sacraments with the understanding that proper formation is necessary to understand and receive these mysteries in the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. This preparation is parish-based, so families that wish to enroll their children in preparation must: 1. be members of St. Philip Neri or St. Clement parish 2. be baptized Catholic 3. have the child complete one year of faith formation prior to the year they are enrolled in sacrament preparation 4. attend Mass as a family registered at St. Philip Neri or St. Clement parish. Enrollment takes place each July and August, with sessions for First Confession beginning on Wednesday evenings in October, and First Confessions made in November. Preparation for First Holy Communion begins the following March, on Wednesday evenings, with First Holy Communion Mass taking place in late April or early May. To register, email Laura Graham, [email protected], or call her at 410-859-0571, ext. 3105. |
“Let us attend to what is good, pleasing, and acceptable in the sight of Him who
formed us. Let us look steadfastly to the blood of Christ, and see how precious that blood is to God which, having been shed for our salvation, has set the grace of repentance before the whole world. Let us turn to every age that has passed, and learn that, from generation to generation, the Lord has granted a place of repentance to all such as would be converted unto Him. “
-- St. Clement’s Letter to the Corinthians
